Cost Estimator

Job Description RSS is seeking for an experienced Cost Estimator to join an established team and play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive pricing for roofing, roof sheeting, and wall cladding projects. In this role, you’ll work closely with Project Managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to review project requirements, develop detailed cost estimates, and support the tender and project delivery process. Position Summary: The role requires a detail-oriented Estimator who is comfortable interpreting project drawings and specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotes, and working closely with Project Managers and clients to develop competitive pricing for roofing and wall cladding projects. What You’ll Be Doing: Review project specifications and drawings to determine material, labour, and equipment requirements Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for roof sheeting and wall cladding projects Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations Work closely with the Project Manager on pricing strategies Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and compliance Maintain up-to-date pricing, cost databases, and historical project data Assist with tender submissions and contract negotiations Assess project cost risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies Communicate with clients to clarify requirements and provide cost-related insights We’re Looking For Someone Who Has: Previous experience as an Estimator within roofing, wall cladding, structural steel, or the construction industry Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and project specifications Experience preparing accurate material, labour, and project cost estimates Experience obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations Strong understanding of construction costs, pricing, and project requirements Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills Confident communication skills when working with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and Project Managers Australian construction experience is highly regarded , particularly familiarity with Australian standards, suppliers, and project practices If you’re an experienced Estimator looking for your next opportunity and enjoy working across the technical and commercial side of construction projects, we’d love to hear from you!
