Estimator

I. POSITION SUMMARY Estimator primarily involved in the preparation of the Bill of Materials (BOM) / Material take-off. Collects and evaluates the Company’s data in order to estimate the costs, resources and labor needed to produce a service or product. ll. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Generate a structures Bill of Materials, ensuring every item is categorized by number, description, and unit of measure. Perform a through review of plans or drawings and specifications to understand the full scope of work. Maintain and update a “Cost Library” by analyzing historical company data and current market prices. Update and monitor prices of raw materials. Suggest alternative materials or brands that meet the project requirements at a lower cost without sacrificing quality. Identify necessary machinery, tools and consumable required for production or installation. Send out Request for Quotation (RFQs) to external vendors thru Purchasing and compare proposals on an apples-to-apples basis. lll. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Minimum one (1) year experience in the same capacity. Experienced at compiling and following strict budget, strong estimating and financial analysis skills. In-depth understanding of plans, materials, pricing and industry. Amenable to work in Malinta, Valenzuela City lV. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Quantity take-off / Material specification Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills. Ability to organize, plan and strategize. Proficient in computer skills, Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Ability to analyze financial records and apply data to improve results. Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets and financial reports.
