About the Role: We operate payment infrastructure across multiple isolated AWS accounts for several fintech products. The core stack is built on Oracle Database (AWS RDS SE2), APEX applications, and high-throughput transactional processing pipelines. We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator who can operate under strict PCI DSS requirements, understands the nuances of cloud-hosted Oracle, and is ready to own database stability in production environments. ? Location: Limassol, Cyprus ? Full-time | On-site / Hybrid Key Responsibilities: Oracle SQL / PL/SQL Design and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and PL/SQL packages; Analyze and tune query execution plans using EXPLAIN PLAN, AWR, ASH; resolve performance bottlenecks; Manage database schemas: DDL migrations, table partitioning, index lifecycle management; Develop and maintain ETL processes and batch data workflows; Write and review PL/SQL code in compliance with security standards (PCI DSS); Oracle APEX Administer and upgrade APEX instances (experience with 24.x versions is a plus); Maintain APEX applications: workspace management, access schemas, application parsing; Diagnose and resolve performance issues with APEX pages and reports; AWS RDS Oracle Provision and manage RDS Oracle instances (SE2): parameter groups, option groups, storage; Configure and monitor Multi-AZ, read replicas via CloudWatch and Performance Insights; Work with RDS Snapshots, automated backups, and Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR); Manage tablespace, UNDO, and TEMP segments within RDS constraints (no SYS-level access); Hands-on experience with AWS DMS for data migration and CDC setup (Binary Reader / LogMiner); Backup, Recovery & Replication Design and test backup strategies in RDS (snapshots + transaction log retention); Data Pump (expdp/impdp): schema export/import, resolving TSTZ issues, encoding mismatches, dependency ordering; Conceptual understanding of Oracle replication (Streams, GoldenGate); practical experience with DMS CDC; Recovery procedures: restore from snapshots, partial schema import, rollback of schema changes; Diagnostics & Monitoring Use AWR, ADDM, ASH, and V$ views to analyze workload, contention, and performance degradation; Integrate database metrics into monitoring stacks (Prometheus / CloudWatch / Grafana); Diagnose blocking, deadlocks, and high CPU/IO at the session and query level; Assess and plan maintenance downtime windows (patching, migrations, restarts) with minimal impact. Job Requirements: Must Have 3+ years of DBA experience, with at least 2 years on Oracle DB; Strong Oracle SQL and PL/SQL skills: packages, cursors, exceptions, dynamic SQL; Hands-on experience with Oracle APEX (administration or application development); Practical experience with AWS RDS Oracle: provisioning, configuration, day-to-day management; Solid understanding of backup and recovery strategies; experience with Data Pump; Ability to read and interpret execution plans and AWR reports; Comfortable working in a Linux environment (bash, cron, filesystem operations); Russian – fluent; English – intermediate (B1) or higher; Nice to Have Background in fintech or payment systems; familiarity with PCI DSS requirements; Experience with Oracle DMS, Kinesis, or other CDC solutions; Exposure to Terraform / Ansible for IaC-driven database infrastructure management; Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar observability tooling; Understanding of ORDS architecture and REST integrations via APEX; Experience upgrading Oracle APEX across major versions.
