Machine Operator

Job Description: Daily Duties and Responsibilities: General Duties : Operating mobile plant and heavy machinery, including material handlers, forklifts, and other site equipment. Operating a cardboard baling machine safely and efficiently. Loading, unloading, moving, and positioning materials safely and efficiently. Carrying out daily pre-start inspections and basic operational checks on machinery. Following all site health and safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment. Assisting with general yard and site operations as required. Ensuring machinery and equipment are operated correctly and responsibly at all times. Reporting any equipment faults, defects, or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Work Schedule and Environment: Full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm. Occasional Saturday work may be required depending on business needs. Qualifications and Skills: Previous experience in the waste management or recycling industry is advantageous but not essential. Experience operating plant machinery, such as material handlers, forklifts, or similar equipment, is advantageous. Strong commitment to health and safety, reliability, and professionalism. Positive attitude and strong work ethic, with the ability to contribute effectively to a supportive team environment. Reasonably fit and physically capable of carrying out the requirements of the role.
