Computer Numerical Control Machine Operator

Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machine Operator with experience in Laser or Waterjet cutting to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming and operating CNC Laser and Waterjet cutting machines to produce high-quality parts in accordance with design drawings and production requirements. The role will involve ensuring machines are set up and operated safely and efficiently, while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy. Key Duties/Responsibilities: Set up and operate CNC Laser, Waterjet and SAW equipment in accordance with work orders, blueprints and production schedules. Program, adjust, download, modify and enter machine programs as required. Adjust machine setting, laser focal points, waterjet pressure, abrasive flow and cutting speeds to optimise performance and part yield. Load and unload raw materials, ensuring materials are handled safely and correctly (sheet metal, steel plate etc) Carry out first-piece inspections using appropriate measuring tools and equipment to verify dimensions and quality requirements. Monitor cutting operations to identify and address quality issues, including taper, inconsistent edge conditions and other defects. Maintain accurate records of production runs, material usage , quality checks and completed programs Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of equipment to support efficient and reliable machine operation. Key Performance Indicators: Right first-time production Achievement of efficiency metrics Skills and Attributes: Minimum of 1 years experience operating a Laser Cutting Machine or Water Jet is an essential requirement Programming experience using G-Codes and M-Codes Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools Experience in one off/ prototyping environment.
