Product Manager PaaS

About the role Telefónica has extensive experience offering cloud services to its B2B customers. Telefónica offers its customers the commercial service "Telefónica Tech Cloud Platform" (hereinafter, TTCP), a proprietary cloud solution developed and evolved internally for more than 15 years. The concept of Sovereign Cloud is an international concept, but it has special emphasis in the European Union, since the aim is to have autonomy and independence from supply and jurisdictions external to the EU. Our current TTCP catalog is mainly focused on the IaaS business. Telefónica is working on building a new line of PaaS products to complement the current TTCP catalog, with the aim of providing a more complete experience to our customers. The benefits of the new PaaS products include, among others: Infrastructure abstraction: Hiding the complexity of installing, updating, and maintaining the underlying hardware and software. Ready-to-consume services: Providing pre-integrated platform capabilities (databases, messaging, functions, workflows, etc.) that are immediately and standardly accessible. Automation by design: Incorporating automated provisioning, deployment, scaling, updating, and operations. Unified development experience: Offering APIs, tools, portals, and low-code/no-code environments that accelerate development and reduce time to production. Secure, resilient, and multi-tenant platform: Guaranteeing tenant isolation, high availability, observability, security, and governance as native platform capabilities. What you'll do The objective of this newly created Product Manager position is to capture the new business opportunity around advanced computing technologies, expanding the offering of our own Distributed Sovereign Cloud, and offering standardized solutions for Private Clouds for clients. What we're looking for AND FOR THIS, WE BELIEVE IT WOULD BE IDEAL IF YOU HAD... Experience More than 4 years defining Value Propositions, identifying customer value points and differentiators against the competition in the technology sector. Creation of documentation that defines the products and services to be marketed, in executive format. Creation of Business Cases, considering cost structure, margin definition, and P&L. Capabilities to assume integral responsibility for the products and services of the business area they will lead: Product Strategy to capture business opportunities. Define a catalog of standardized Products and Services. Activities related to Launch and Management through Telefónica's commercial channels. Monitoring of results and lifecycle management to maintain commercialization, as well as evolution / associated roadmap. Knowledge of the Cloud business: Market situation and main references (Hyperscalers, Deutsche Telekom T Cloud Public, OVH, Scaleway, StackIT, IONOS, etc.) As-a-service commercialization models, which allow customers to consume on a pay-per-use basis, reducing investment and accelerating innovation. Knowledge of deploying, operating, and evolving technology through automation, reducing time and operational errors. Technical skills: Enterprise PaaS platforms oriented towards deploying, operating, and managing the lifecycle of services on Kubernetes (OpenShift, Rancher, etc.) and Virtual Machines. Development and modernization platforms for applications based on Cloud Native models, Buildpacks, and CI/CD, such as Cloud Foundry. Database as a Service for relational databases, NoSQL, cache, and analytics (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, OpenSearch, ClickHouse, etc.) through providers such as Aiven, Severalnines, Anynines, Openeverest. Messaging services and Event Streaming for event-driven architectures, including Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, and MQTT. Serverless platforms and Functions as a Service (FaaS) for executing functions and event-driven applications (AWS Lambda, Knative, OpenFaaS, OpenWhisk, etc.). Workflow Automation platforms using low-code/no-code tools based on connectors (n8n, Activepieces, Camunda, Temporal, etc.). Cloud Native architectures based on microservices, containers, Kubernetes, Service Mesh (Istio, Linkerd), and GitOps (ArgoCD, FluxCD). Enterprise capabilities of a PaaS platform, including multi-tenancy, RBAC, high availability, horizontal scalability, disaster recovery, backup/restore, auditing, observability, regulatory compliance, and Day-2 operations automation. Observability services for monitoring, logging, and tracing (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, Loki, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry). AIOps (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK/OpenSearch, etc.) To perform the role, the skills that would best fit the team and the project would be: High analytical capacity with strong technical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills. Ability for self-auditing. Ability to lead proposals with other areas of the company to achieve business results delivery. Communication skills to translate complex technical concepts into language that business sellers and buyers can understand. Proactive and positive attitude, enthusiastic, autonomous, independent, and with a spirit of self-learning. Collaborative spirit, creative mindset, and strong results orientation. Ability to create complex business cases autonomously. Ability to analyze and create high-level executive presentations.
