Summary Performs related duties of a classroom teacher to provide continuity in the day-to-day responsibilities during the absence of the regular employee. Note: Substitute employees are employed on an as needed, on-call, day-to-day basis and are not guaranteed work on a regular basis. There are no benefits associated with substitute employment Essential Duties Manages classroom and provides instructions according to plans as prepared by the classroom teacher Provides classroom environment which promotes active learning in subject area Accounts for student attendance and punctuality Uses appropriate behavior management strategies Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures Follows professional ethics in all work-related activities Avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator Required Education High School Diploma or GED equivalent Certification/Licensure None required Teaching Certification preferred Experience Qualifications None required; Experience working with children preferred
