Medical Assistant

The role of the Medical Assistant (MA) is to perform administrative and clinical duties in support of Peace Corps Medical Officers (PCMOs) and Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs) in Armenia.MA duties include but are not limited to:- serving as chaperone for PCMO during medical examinations and procedures- performing a variety of non-invasive routine technical and clinical services under the supervision of a PCMO, which may include clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering immunizations, performing laboratory tests, etc.- assisting PCMOs in procurement of medical supplies,- serving as health unit receptionist, screening phone calls & taking messages,- scheduling and following up on medical appointments,- distribution of medicine to PCVs,- responsible for sterilization of equipment,- other duties as assigned.The MA works under the guidance of PCMOs and reports to the Peace Corps Country Director (CD) for administrative issues (unless CD authorizes PCMO supervision).
