Plant Medical Doctor

Overview Dangote Industries Limited is hiring a Plant Medical Doctor for its Mtwara plant in Tanzania. The role involves providing occupational and general healthcare, emergency support, and wellness programs for employees.

Responsibilities The Medical Officer will work closely with nurses, safety officers, healthcare staff, and management to maintain a healthy workforce and provide effective medical support within the plant environment. - Conduct medical examinations, diagnostic tests, and screenings for injuries, illnesses, and occupational diseases - Diagnose health conditions and determine appropriate treatment plans - Prescribe medications and refer patients to specialists when necessary - Provide emergency medical care for workplace accidents and injuries - Promote preventive healthcare and wellness programs for industrial workers - Maintain updated medical records, including evaluations, treatments, test results, and medications - Supervise and evaluate medical assistants and nursing staff - Counsel patients on nutrition, fitness, hygiene, and lifestyle choices - Monitor occupational health risks such as respiratory conditions, musculoskeletal disorders, and chemical exposure - Coordinate evacuation and liaise with external hospitals for emergency referrals and specialized treatment - Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety laws - Develop and implement health awareness campaigns and wellness programs

Requirements Applicants should have an MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution, a valid license to practice medicine in Tanzania, and at least five years of post-qualification experience. Certification or training in occupational health will be an added advantage. Strong knowledge of occupational health hazards, emergency medicine, and preventive healthcare is required, along with excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. - MBBS or equivalent medical degree - Valid license to practice medicine in Tanzania - Minimum of five years of post-qualification experience - Occupational health certification or training is an added advantage - Strong knowledge of occupational health hazards, emergency medicine, and preventive healthcare - Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
