Principal Security Software Engineer, Application Security

Overview Roblox is hiring a Principal Security Software Engineer for its Application Security team in San Mateo. The role focuses on secure design reviews, threat modeling, automation, penetration testing, and scaling application security practices across the company. Responsibilities This role drives company-wide application security efforts across diverse tech stacks and works with engineering leaders to remediate security challenges. - Lead company-wide security initiatives - Provide guidance on product security processes and standards - Define and expand partnerships with engineering teams - Identify threats and vulnerabilities and help implement safeguards - Enable cross-functional teams to implement Trust-by-Design solutions - Build security education and awareness programs - Automate and scale application and product security efforts - Design and secure autonomous agentic workflows - Test application code using the OWASP Testing Methodology - Mentor and guide other security engineers Requirements The position calls for deep application security experience, strong technical communication skills, and the ability to influence engineering partners. - 8+ years of professional cybersecurity experience - Deep background in application security, data encryption, and security standards - Knowledge of network and cloud security - Experience with software and infrastructure architecture focused on security - Familiarity with common code and network vulnerabilities and remediation - Ability to write code in at least one language such as Python, Golang, or C# - Applied knowledge of cryptography, PKI, TLS, threat modeling, and SSDLC - Experience operationalizing security best practices in large-scale internet environments - Familiarity with Linux and Windows security - Familiarity with secure deployment patterns for AI agents and safe AI adoption at scale Benefits Full-time employees are eligible for equity compensation and benefits. - Annual salary range: $326,060 to $385,050 USD for headquarters-based roles - Eligible for equity compensation - Eligible for benefits as described by Roblox Other Relevant Heading Roles based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday unless otherwise noted. - Equal employment opportunity and reasonable accommodations are provided - For US-based roles, certain visa sponsorship limitations may apply Source https://careers.roblox.com/jobs/7789332?gh_jid=7789332
